Case Number 9
A 61 year old white female noticed an enlarging right breast for 5 or 6
weeks. It was felt that it could not be cancer since it appeared so suddenly
and did not change. A mammogram was obtained and revealed a mass 2.5 by
3.0cm in the upper outer quadrant of the right breast that looked suspicious
for cancer. However, the entire breast was obviously involved, measuring
over 10cm in diameter.
The patient had taken Premarin 0.625mg every 3 out of
4 weeks for many years.
Diagnosis was invasive lobular carcinoma with negative lymph nodes. Receptor
values: Estrogen- 22 Femoles, Progesterone- 0 Femoles.
